GeekGirlCon 2015 is over and done – we had a wonderful time!
Getting to the hotel was just fine until we were a half block away, where we encountered the edge of the Secret Service area set up for President Obama’s visit. We are proud to announce that the PDX Broadsides are fully Secret Service-approved!
We played a show with Thundering Asteroids! at the Hard Rock Cafe to kick off the con and celebrate the fifth anniversary of GeekGirlCon, and it was awesome! So many nerds in the audience Muppet Flailing with us. Then Thundering Asteroids! played, with Christian subbing in on punk rock drums. We then formed Thundering Broadsides! and joined them for “Hit It And Crit”, a punk version of “Smile!”, and a cover of “Holiday Road”.
On Saturday we did a last-minute acoustic show to replace a cancelled panel, and we were so pleased to see so many people in the audience! It was inspiring to be able to share our music with brand new people.
We also did a signing on Sunday, and ended up selling out of all the copies of “Aim To Misbehave” we had brought with us!
We’ll see you on Thursday for our mega-band show with Killy Dwyer, Going Viral, and many more…
