Recap: Ash Street Saloon with Chamber Band

We had a lovely show at Ash Street last night – late but lovely!

Having friends at a show makes us a little sillier than we usually are (if that’s imaginable), so things got a tiny bit nuts. It was the PDX Broadsides’ first time at Ash Street, and it’s a great venue. Lots of space, and Heather the sound engineer was on top of her craft. We sounded stellar, following a super-professional sound check where we each got to free-associate on the mic as well as perform our sound check song. An impromptu performance of “I’m A Hog For You Baby” may have also happened, but we’re not telling.

Chamber Band is amaaazing. Their new album Careers is Hunger Games-themed, and their previous one, Deities, is D&D-themed. The band’s sound is nearly indescribable. Inventive. Progressive. Raw. Beautiful. All those things. Harmonies for days, and energy for years. We were definitely inspired by their performance and can’t wait to write more songs. We may or may not have started talking about a tour next year, so please keep that tidbit in your mind palace.

There are also some new developments that we are TRES EXCITED about, and we hope to share it with you in the next few days. Onward we stride through the summer!
