“Ain’t nothin’ like a geek party ’cause a geek party stimulates your brain and other senses while providing an occasion for socializing with people of a similar set of interests.”

A successful Portland Geek Council Epic WINter Formal is in the history books for 2015, and we aer so proud to have been a part of it! The Star Theater is a perfect venue for it, with distinct areas for seating, dancing, gaming, and drinking. There were free video games and a gift exchange, and everyone there looked extremely sharp, including us.
After stand-up comic Katie Rose Leon, there was some delightfully nerdy and festive burlesque happening on the stage, and then the music began. We got our only chance this year to perform our Christmas-themed nerd songs, so we pulled out the stops, including “Humbug”, a brand new original, and a cover of “Hard Candy Christmas”. It was really nice to share a stage with the Doubleclicks again, too!
We say that there are no fans like nerd music fans, but we really really do mean it. Friday night just reaffirmed how passionate and fun they are. We are always so grateful when people come to our shows, sing along, and talk to us afterwards.
There’s still time (and occasion) to get our new Christmas song “Santa’s Got a TARDIS” on Bandcamp, so if you heard it Friday and want a copy for your very own, it’s only ONE DOLLAR!
Thank you again for making the Epic WINter Formal such a wonderful evening, and we’ll see you again at OMSI on January 3 at noon – free concert with your OMSI admission. Science music is go!
